Kazakhstan and France Forge Ahead on Green Energy and Cultural Exchanges

The Head of State of Kazakhstan, President Tokayev, begins a two-day visit to France today. He will meet with President Macron and work to further strengthen relations between our two countries.

As you know, France is a favourite cultural and investment destination of mine. Our two peoples have been linked for almost two centuries, and the
The Kazakhstan-France relationship is instrumental in developing trade, industry, cultural, and economic exchanges between Central Asia and the European Union.

Since establishing diplomatic relations in January 1992 and signing our Strategic Partnership Agreement in 2010, our countries have supported and helped each other.

With its key international position in sectors like renewable energy, mining, and heavy industry, France has been an exemplary partner, one that has demonstrated what can be achieved with creativity and technical know-how. France is a cultural and economic leader worldwide, an example in an environmental approach to the industry, a partner, and an example.

I told you precisely that a few months ago when I met the French Consul General in Almaty, Fabrice NEVEU, and I reiterated Kazakhstan's commitment to deepening these ties. In the fields of green energy and mining, where France's expertise is unmatched globally, we are always looking for opportunities, ideas, and investments.

Today, Paris remains a primary provider of foreign direct investment in Kazakhstan, reflecting the mutual benefits of our strong economic relationship.

In the past decade alone, trade volume between our nations has spread between $2.5 and $6.5 billion annually and is really strong this 2024 already. Companies like Total, Alstom, and Danone are in Kazakhstan, and our uranium, titanium, or gas benefit the development of French and European industries.

Kazakhs are fond of France. France respects and supports Kazakhstan. And whenever an investment opportunity adds up in building stronger relations, you will find me there.

Happy Week to all of you!
