Kazakhstan must train a generation of skilled (and digital) professionals

I am convinced that the future of Kazakhstan, our people, and our primary industries lies in boosting the education and skills of our future professionals. More than ever, industry-oriented innovation is the key to a stronger global position.

We might be a young nation, but we are also a dynamic, solid, and fast one. We aim to build an economy where future generations of professionals can keep up with the challenges of our growing importance as an economic partner.

This morning, at the 2024 edition of Digital Almaty 2024 Almaty, I had the opportunity to examine, next to Sayasat Nurbek, our Minister of Science and Higher Education, and other experts, how we must enhance our education system to make sure we continue competing internationally.

Under the title "Education for Industry 4.0: Training the Workforce for the Digital Future," I stated that I am committed to promoting and encouraging digital and technology projects that help grow our country's position.

Kazakhstan is already a leader in critical domains of the real economy, such as oil, gas, nickel, or cobalt. However, we must make sure we can train - and we indeed train - the most skilled generation of engineers and experts in natural resources.

We will strengthen the training of our specialists. We will inject talent, digitization, and innovation into those sectors that have made us leaders. I am sure of it all.

Thanks to Andrew Beklemishev for hosting us - and thanks to my fellow panel members for their insights and wisdom.
