Empowering the Next Generation: The Personal Mentor Program at Shoqan School
You will remember that, last year, I announced that Aselle Tasmagambetova and I would fund the education of those SHOQAN SCHOOL students accepted to any of the world's top ten universities, as rated by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
This month, through a competitive selection process, the best and the brightest of Shoqan's students now have the chance to enter our Personal Mentor Program - an initiative that we have been sponsoring for some time and is a first step to them developing successful and meaningful careers.
The winners of the competition will gain the right to be coached by some of the most respected colleagues, foreign and Kazakh, and have access to their own tailored preparation itineraries.
Participants in the Program will take summer courses at Harvard and Brown Universities (with all tuition and additional expenses paid), will be prepared for the SAT exams by some of the best teachers in Almaty, and will receive full support in their university application process.
(Precisely, Aselle spoke about the importance of individualized education recently here

And we act accordingly.
The ultimate truth is that we believe in our students' extraordinary potential, which is what really represents our school's pride and our nation's future; we want them to acquire the skills, confidence, and global perspectives needed to drive meaningful change in Kazakhstan.
Our Shoqan Walikhanov School, based in Almaty, is considered one of Central Asia's leading education institutions. It was founded in 2020 as a non-profit and combines traditional academic methods with modern infrastructure and contemporary teaching techniques. It educates more than 1,300 students.
It is named after Shoqan Walikhanov, a nineteenth-century Kazakh explorer and scholar born in November 1835 and one of our nation's leading thinkers, by whom we have been very much inspired for many years.
