Borealis Foods goes public: a game-changing move for global food security
Today, at 9:30 AM, Borealis Foods, one of the really exciting food companies in the world, is going public on New York's Nasdaq after merging with our very own Oxus Acquisition Corp - Asia's first Central Asian SPAC, which we founded in 2021.
Borealis is one of the most stimulating and game-changing investments I have ever made and, in this case, an actual declaration of principles for me.
The company, the brainchild of its genius CEO Reza Soltanzadeh, produces plant-based ramen with 20 grams of protein per serving. It is ready to feed the world with high-protein, organic, affordable, healthy ramen noodles.
I believe entrepreneurship is about making possible what would seem impossible. Under Reza's leadership, I am convinced that this is what Borealis is going to do: change the lives of many, save the lives of a lot, and prove that investment and entrepreneurship can, and must, be a force for good.
Trust another genius, Gordon Ramsay, who has also joined the company as an investor and advisor.
When we started Oxus Acquisition Corp., only a few believed it would be such a tremendous success. In the end, most SPACs never make it to the completion phase.
We did. And we did it from Almaty, from Kazakstah, proving that this part of the world is the origin of many globally relevant projects.
I have to applaud my colleague Kanat Mynzhanov, until now CEO of Oxus, for his extraordinary work in leading this transaction and the impact his work will have on food security in the world and our region.
Kanat has put wits, talent, strength, and many hours next to Oxus' CFO, Askar Mametov, and I am proud to have trusted them since the beginning.
Kazakhstan is one of the leading grain producers in Central Asia and one of the most important in the world, and caring for people through food is in our DNA.
And we are in Borealis precisely because we think it can help solve real global issues. Our nation has, this time, triumphed in obtaining a significant stake in the world's most advanced food security company.
We wish Borealis the best of success as a listed company.
