Empowering future leaders: full tuition scholarships for Shoqan School Students admitted to top universities worldwide

I pledge to finance the entire tuition costs of all Shoqan School students that get admitted to one of the top ten universities in the world

Yesterday, here at LinkedIn, I shared an update on the work my wife, Aselle Tasmagambetova, and I have been doing as founders of the Shoqan Walikhanov School since it was established in 2020.

I mentioned that, under our Mentoring Program, we have chosen four Shoqan students - Sabyrzhan Arman, Nariman Dinara, Ospan Tomiris, and Asyl Aruzhan - to be fully mentored by me and some of the Kazahkstan leaders so that they can become leaders in their own right.

Today, I make one more announcement as we take our vision one step further:

This year, through the Saby Charitable Foundation, we will fully fund the tuition costs of any Shoqan Walikhanov School student who is admitted to one of the top ten universities in the world, as ranked by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

You heard right. Full scholarship for all our students who gain admission to one of the top ten universities in the world: Oxford University, Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University, Cambridge University, Cambridge University, Princeton University, California Institute of Technology, Imperial College London, University of California, Berkeley or Yale University.

Our goal is simple, really. We want to ensure that our most brilliant students have access to world-class opportunities, can fulfill their potential, can embark on global challenges, and can contribute internationally. We want the future to be filled with the names of Kazakh young women and men capable of achieving great things.

As a condition, they will be required to bring innovative ideas back to Kazakhstan and make a difference here, in their country of origin.

The role we want Shoqan Walikhanov School to play in the future of Kazakhstan is an important one. We want the school to be synonymous with excellence in education, where students from all corners of Kazakhstan can aspire to great things and achieve them.

Ultimately, the legacy Aselle and I want to leave behind is a better, more prosperous future for our people. We believe in giving back to our country and want to give future generations, those who have yet to arrive, a Kazakhstan that is more educated, innovative, and connected.

A global nation, one with global aspirations.
