Kazakhstan today: progress, tradition, and economic aspirations
Kazakhstan is rooted in values that are a mix of nomadic traditions and modern influences, a new country after many years of being part of something larger. From the lands of Kazakhstan, man traveled to space for the first time.
We have built a regional power over three decades, and only in three decades. We are a reliable partner for nations and investors everywhere.
We are always moving forward. Kazakhs are hardworking, educated, family-oriented, and tolerant. These characteristics are also reflected in our work, and in our life.
Our country faces significant challenges and unique opportunities for more stable and diversified economic development. While the forecast is for 5.3% GDP and strong performance in key sectors, the world around us is evolving fast.
We are about natural resources, but not only about natural resources. We are committed to sectors that open up our economy and international investments. In 2023, the construction sector stood at 13.3%, trade reached 11.3%, information and communication services soared by 7.1%, and industry increased to 4.3%. Impressive.
Kazakhstan has become the leading recipient of foreign investment among the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries. In equal parts, as a Kazakh, I am happy to see how, as a nation, we are growing in a way that guarantees reliable alternatives to ensure more autonomous and sustainable economic growth for our country.
We are at a crucial moment of development, and I am confident that we have the full capacity to be a greater actor, overcome challenges, and emerge as even more relevant economic leaders in the region.
Happy week to you all.
